The Presidents overcame a 17-7 first quarter deficit with team defense and pressing to overtake Tully of Central New York and advance into the Wilson Invitational's championship game Saturday. Senior guards Angel Serrano and Dante Gibson led the way, accounting for 30 of the team's 54 points. Serrano was high scorer as the four year varsity guard and team captain had 18points, 6 assists, and 3 steals for the Presidents. Gibson provided solid free throw shooting, 3 point accuracy, and ball control in the final minutes of the contest, and added 5 assists. Senior captain Omarion Arroyo pulled down 12 boards and scored 4 points, while the Presidents' center senior Biel Douth had 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots. The Presidents are battle tested after traveling to Edison Tech last weekend and facing the Inventors as well as East Rochester in early season action.
