The top-seeded Cooperstown Hawkeyes won their 24th consecutive game as they downed the 3rd seeded Waterville Eagles 76-67 for the Section III Class C Sectional Championship at SRC Arena on the OCC campus on Saturday. The Hawkeyes will move on to play in the regional round next weekend. The Eagles completed their season at 19-5 (3 losses to Cooperstown).
The Hawkeyes were led by Miles Nelen (35), Christian Lawson (17) and Cooper Bradley (17). Lawson and Nelen were named to the All Tournament team with Nelen winning the MVP award.
The Eagles were led by Jackson Ruane (28), Luke Abrams (16) and Allen Morey (10). Ruane and Abrams were named to the All Tournament team.
