Iprep secured 2nd place in the Yale Cup League I with a convincing home victory over South Park last night. The win sets up an anticipated rematch with McKinley on February 7th to atone for last Friday's loss at McKinley. The Presidents had four plays in double figures for scoring and nearly a fifth, showing solid balance in the offensive attack. Junior Emir Lindsay scored 14, senior point guard Dante Gibson had 14, senior point guard Angel Serrano had 14, and senior guard Versi Hawkins added 11 points. Senior center Biel Douth scored 9, while junior forward Jaydan Daniels rounded out the scoring with two points in the fourth quarter. Senior forward Omarion Arroyo, for the second game in a row, provided the high energy to close the game out and he led the team in steals with 4. Arroyo had 7 boards and an assist as well. Biel Douth had 13 rebounds, 5 blocked shots, and 4 assists. Emir Lindsay and Dante Gibson combined for 6 steals for the Presidents as defense made the difference in the game's second half. Angel Serrano pulled in 7 rebounds working the bottom of the zone defense and he dispersed 3 assists to ignite the President offense. Iprep hosts Burgard this evening at 6pm.
