The game started an hour late in cold, rainy and windy conditions, but the Morrisville-Eaton Field hockey team played a strong and consistent game for all four quarters, handing Port Byron their third and final loss of the season. After a back and forth battle in the first quarter, both teams were held scoreless. Molly Orth started the scoring for Morrisville-Eaton by evading the Port Byron defense in the circle and finding the back of the net with 9:22 left in the second quarter. Orth went on to score again, off an assist by Julie Tomcho at 3:17 remaining in the half, giving Morrisville a 2-0 lead at halftime. In the third quarter, Molly Orth found the back of the net again, off an assist from Sam Cook, with 2:47 on the clock. Port Byron came out strong in the fourth quarter when Raelee McDowell scored off an assist from Camryn Brundage just ninety seconds into the quarter. Morrisville answered with 6:58 remaining in the game, when Ally McConville scored off an assist by Hannah Adams. The final score was Morrisville-Eaton 4, Port Byron 1. This win brings Morrisville's record to 15-2 and advances them to the Section 3 Class D final game next weekend.
